What is Google AdSense?

Google AdSense is a free advertising platform that allows website owners to earn money by showing relevant ads on their website content.
  • Google AdSense is a free advertising platform.
  • There is no minimum traffic requirement to use AdSense on the website.
  • High-quality and contextual ads are displayed.
  • High CPC and generates a decent earning for website owners.
  • Monthly payout and minimum withdrawal threshold.

What are the requirements for Adsense approval?

To get AdSense approval you must meet some criteria or requirements. If you are a website owner, you must follow and fulfil the requirements of the AdSense program to monetize your website traffic. I have discussed the requirements for AdSense approval in the below content.

1. Age:

If you are looking for AdSense approval as a website owner, you must be over 18 years old as per your country's ID card. You cannot apply for the AdSense program if you are below 18 years old.

But if your age is below 18 years old and you want to monetize your website with AdSense, then on behalf of you, your parents and guardians can apply to the AdSense program from their Google account. All the payments that you will get from your website will be transferred to your parent's Google Adsense account.

It is the first and basic requirement of Google AdSense to apply for the AdSense program.

2. High-Quality Unique Content:

You can get AdSense approval easily if your website has high-quality, interesting, and unique content that is user-friendly.

As per the Google AdSense program requirements, your website must have enough interesting and unique content for the users. You must avoid AI-generated content and copy content from other websites.

If your website has AI-generated content or plagiarism, you will not get AdSense approval. In such conditions, you must remove all the AI-generated content and plagiarism before applying for the AdSense program. You can use some free tools to detect AI-generated content and plagiarism in your website's posts.

Google AdSense always monetizes content that is unique, interesting and valuable to the users.

3. Adsense Publisher Policies:

Google AdSense is very strict about its publisher policies, and you must follow AdSense publisher policies to get AdSense approval easily. I am listing down the program policies that are mandatory to get AdSense approval.
  • Content Policies: Google AdSense will not allow any content that does not follow Government law, copyrighted content, misleading content, etc.
  • Behavioural Policies: AdSense will not give approval if your website theme or navigations are inappropriate, if the website is under construction, if duplicate content, if paid promotion other than Adsense ads, if unsupported languages of your website, etc.
  • Privacy Related Policies: Google AdSense will prevent your website from monetizing with AdSense if your website violates privately related policies such as no disclosure of collecting users' personal data, cookies modification, not following the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, etc.
  • Other Standards: AdSense will not allow your website if you hide Google AdSense spam policies, provide unwanted software, etc.

Google AdSense Approval Checklist: Pre AdSense Application Checklist -

The pre-AdSense application checklist is vital to getting AdSense approval easily. In this checklist, I will discuss several points to follow before you apply for the AdSense program. You must follow each and every point to get hassle-free AdSense approval.

Also, I will provide a free online tool that will analyse your website's criteria along with a checklist and provide you with a score to understand the chances of getting AdSense approval.

Pre AdSense Application Checklist:
1. Age of website owner
2. Top-level domain
3. Age of domain
4. Fast and Lightweight Theme
5. Website Navigation
6. Essential Pages
7. Unique Contents
8. Minimum Post
9. Connect with Google Products
10. Connect with Social Media
11. Minimum Traffic
12. Follow Adsense Publisher Policies

1. Age of website owner:

To get AdSense approval, your age must be above 18 years old as per the AdSense publisher's guidelines. This is the first criterion of AdSense to monetize your traffic. If you are under 18 years old and want to monetize your traffic, then you can apply AdSense from your parent's Google account.

2. Top-level domain:

Always use top-level domains for your website, such as .com, .in, .org etc. Also, remember that you must purchase a domain from an authorised provider.

Never purchase a free domain for your website because it decreases the chances of getting AdSense approval

3. Age of domain:

Google always choose a consistent and high-authority domain.  To ensure that Google always prefers and provides approval to domains that have been live for more than one year.

For beginners and new websites, I will recommend from my personal experience your domain must be at least 6 months old before applying to the AdSense program. However, there are no requirements from Google, but still, it is an authoritative value to Google AdSense.

4. Fast and Lightweight Theme:

Choose a fast and lightweight theme whether you are using a blogger or a WordPress website. A lightweight theme will load your website fast and load AdSense ads. Fast and lightweight themes also improve website performance, which helps your website rank in Google searches. Check your website's performance and speed with Google's PageSpeed Insights tool.

Remove all the unnecessary HTML codes, style CSS and scripts from your theme to make your theme faster and lightweight. Also, remember that your website must have a clean user interface with proper alignment. Make sure that your website elements do not cover or block any AdSense ads.

Google AdSense ads code load and display faster in high-speed and lightweight websites, so Google AdSense easily approves websites that have a high-speed index.

5: Website Navigation:

The next important checklist is website navigation. Website navigation is important to boost SEO and user experience. Proper website page navigation allows users to access your website content easily.

You can make your website navigation properly with page interlinking and an interactive header menu.

Header Menu - Choose suitable categories for your website and add them to the header menu with an article link.
For example, if your website niche is health and fitness, you can divide categories into Weight Loss, Healthy Habits, Exercise, etc. and these categories to your header menu with post links. You can choose categories by searching keywords for your website niche.

Related Posts - Add related posts in your articles to boost SEO and user performance. Users will visit related posts, read another article, and spend more time on your website, which helps AdSense display more ads on your website.

Label - You can add a label or category in the sidebar menu to create a proper website navigation. Your website users will get access to explore more content.

6. Essential Pages:

Google Adsense team has clearly mentioned the essential pages that must be available on your website pages. These essential pages are About Us, Contact Us, Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions and Disclaimer. These pages ensure that your website is following government laws and that the owner has authority over the website. These pages help AdSense to understand that your website is genuine.

If your website doesn't have these essential pages, your website will not get AdSense approval. Essential pages of your website must mention that you are following Google AdSense policies and government laws.

I will recommend to show a cookie consent notice to the users when they visit your website. Website cookie permission is necessary for Google AdSense to provide personalised ads to the user based on their consent. So, to ensure that you are collecting permission from users, you should integrate a cookie consent notice.

7. Unique Contents:

It is the most important point, and AdSense approval depends on the content available on your website. To write unique and interesting content, you can take him from Google trends, current news, keyword generator tools, related searches from Google and questions from Google search.

When you are writing content for your website, you must check that people have an interest in your topic and you fully meet the requirements of the users.

So when you are writing content,
1. Choose a topic that is interesting, trending or new.
2. Research related keywords regarding your topic and use LSI keywords in your post.
3. Internal Link your website pages in your post.
4. Write your content between 1000 to 2000 words per post.
5. Do not use copy content or AI-generated content.

Nowadays, websites are not getting AdSense approval because of copy content or AI-generated content. You must avoid these types of content otherwise, you will not get AdSense approval. So when you are writing content, you can get help from a plagiarism checker tool or AI detector tool to remove paragraphs that are copied from other websites or AI-generated.

8. Minimum Post:

Your website must have enough content before applying for AdSense. Website gets Adsense approval that contains enough interesting and unique content for the users. Minimum post required because if there is no content on your website, that means there is no opportunity to show ads on your website.

As per my personal experience, I will recommend that your website must have at least 20 to 30 unique and interesting posts before applying for AdSense.

If you are website doesn't have enough content, then there is no value in your website for the AdSense program. AdSense ads work based on your website content and user interest.

Most of the beginners stop writing their posts after 5 to 10 posts apply for AdSense and get rejected. You should avoid this type of mistake. Write at least 20 to 30 unique posts and wait for a few months to rank on Google and then apply for AdSense.

9. Connect with Google Products:

You have completed theme design and website navigation and created unique content. Now it's time to connect your website with other Google products, such as Google Search Console and Google Analytics.

Google search console helps to index your website contents on Google and show you the performance and keywords that are ranking on Google. It will give you an idea for your next contents. It will also help Google AdSense to understand that your website has enough contents to answer people on Google search.

Google Analytics helps in monitoring user engagement, user behaviour, user interest etc. Google AdSense collects data from your Google Analytics account and assess your website whether it is ready for Adsense approval or not.

10. Connect with Social Media:

Now it's time to connect your website to social media. It will boost Your domain authority and initial traffic to your website. Domain authority and initial traffic is very important to get AdSense approval for your website. To get AdSense approval you need minimum traffic at initial stage and you will get the traffic from social media platform.

You can use popular social media platform such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest Medium and Quora. Be active on social media platform and share your interesting post to social media to engage new users and to get initial traffic.

Quora is a popular question answer forum social media. You can share your questions regarding your website niche and answer other peoples questions from your posts. Share your post link as a reference to the users.

11. Minimum Traffic:

The Google AdSense team never made reference to the minimum traffic needed to be approved. However, based on my own experience, you need some traffic in order to receive AdSense approval. Consider this: if your website has no traffic, what is the point of getting AdSense approval, and why would Google approve your website if there is no traffic to view ads?

At initial stage you need minimum 50 to 100 page views per day. If you don't have any page views, I will recommend you to wait until you are getting a stable traffic to your website otherwise AdSense will reject your approval. Due to low traffic or no traffic in your website, Google AdSense may show error of low value content.

You can get minimum traffic to your website at initial stage from social media platforms. But keep focus on building SEO to get organic traffic from Google and Bing search engine.

12. Follow Adsense Publisher Policies:

Last important checklist is following AdSense publisher policies and AdSense program policies. If you want AdSense approval for your website you must follow Google publisher policies which I have mentioned at starting of this post.

The main focus of AdSense publisher policy is to monetize unique and interesting contents and to keep AdSense platform organised. If there is unusual traffic, unusual activities and website navigation not appropriate or website under construction you will not get AdSense approval.

So before you apply for AdSense approval you must check that your website is following AdSense publishers policies and AdSense program policies. For the best result and updated information visit official AdSense publisher policy page.

Now I have completed the Pre AdSense application checklist. I hope this will be helpful to you and your website must fulfill the above checklist before applying for AdSense.

Now it's time to add the Ads.txt file to your Blogger or WordPress website. Ads.txt files provide publisher information to the seller. Google AdSense made it mandatory to keep a valid ads.txt file on the website before applying for AdSense approval.

Post-Adsense application checklist:

2. Avoid unusual activities:

It is important to keep yourself and your website natural during the AdSense review process. Don't do any unusual activity such as getting extra traffic or changing website design, etc.

If you do any unusual activity, sense may reject your application because unusual activity looks suspicious to AdSense.

3. Don't Make Changes in Website:

It is an important point to keep in mind that do not make any changes in your website theme or design during AdSense review process

If you change your website design, navigation, or anything, it may present your website as under construction, and AdSense will reject your application.
So do not change anything during the review process. Keep as it is.
